Q. How do I update my map?

1) On the homepage of www.gogonav.com you will see a large world map.
2) Click the country that you are interested in by choosing the drop down menu
on the map. For example, you can choose "USA & Canada" if you click the North America continent.
3) Click the 'device picture' or 'device name' that matches your device.
4) At this stage, you can see if map updates are available for your product.
If a new map is available, you can purchase it by first registering an account and following the steps as prompted.

Q. Why should I update my map?

A. Road networks change each year by an estimated 10-15%. Consider all the road construction you sometimes see.
POIs change address, move, and new ones are added every day. If you have an out-of-date map,
you may encounter differences in guidance or other issues when travelling.
To ensure the best navigation experience, the most up-to-date map is always advisable.

Q. Why do I sometimes find map errors?

A. Maps can never represent the real world exactly because the world is always changing; so too are roads,
POIs and other important map features. Having the latest map data is always advisable.
Check the www.gogonav.com website to see if map updates are available for your product.

Q. I found a map error, what should I do?

A. Please send map errors to EnGIS support department by email: support@engistech.com.

Our Quality Control will examine it and reply to you with our findings. If the map data is incorrect,
we will forward it to our map data provider so that it may be corrected in a future release.

Q. Which maps are available?

A. The maps you can use will depend on the product you have.
To see which maps are supported for your device, in www.gogonav.com,
click the 'device picture or 'device name' that matches your device.
You can see which countries are available for your product.

Q. How do I check the version of my application and map?

A. Go to the (About) page of your navigation product: Menu > Settings > About

The (Version) field indicates the Gogo Application version.
The (Data) field indicates the Map Data version.

You can then check our site to see if map or application updates are available for your product.

Q. What is TTS?

A. TTS means Text-to-Speech. TTS allows the navigation system to pronounce street names, highways,
POI names among others; for example, the unit instructs the driver ahead by announcing the guidance command
and name of the street; e.g. "turn right on Grant Avenue," instead of simply prompting "turn right".

Q. What is TMC?

A. TMC means Traffic Message Channel. This feature delivers updated traffic information and
speed and flow information delivered in real time.

Q. What is a POI?

A. POI is simply a Point Of Interest. It is a place that you might want to visit; for example, a restaurant,
hotel or fuel station. POIs have been categorized and can be searched by Name, proximity to your current location,
by city or on your route.

Q. I cannot find the exact POI that I am looking for?

A. There are many ways to find a POI. You can search for a POI nearby your current location,
in a particular city, or by spelling its name.

If you cannot find a particular POI, try searching for it using POI name. Ensure that the spelling is correct. Try searching for the POI using the 'All Cities' option. This is available when you Choose Menu > POI Name.
The 'All Cities' options appear at the top of the list.
The POI may be coded in the database as existing in another city, a City nearby, or a City known by a different name;
for example, Manhattan versus New York City.

Make sure to become familiar with the POI categories and sub categories of Gogo.
There are millions of POIs and a classification system is needed in order to organise them into meaningful groups.

Q. How does GPS work?

A. GPS means Global Positioning System. GPS is a worldwide radio-navigation system formed from a
constellation of 24 satellites and their ground stations. Your Gogo powered device receives signals from
these satellites and can determine your exact position on the Earth's surface accurate to a matter of meters.
Your movements can be tracked in real time by GPS. These GPS signals are constantly sent to your Gogo powered device,
so that you can receive precise instructions on how to get to your destination.

Q. Why does the device not get a GPS fix?

A. Your device needs to have a clear view of the sky in order to receive GPS signal.
If you are in the downtown area where buildings are crowded densely, it may cause some GPS signal reception disturbance.
It's not possible to receive GPS signals in a tunnel, underground parking lot, or enclosed space.

Q. What languages are available?

A. User Interface and voice languages differ depending on the product.

To check which languages are supported on your product, go to Settings > Voice/Text.

Q. The route Gogo recommends is not the route I usually take. Why does this happen?

A. The way in which Gogo calculates the route depends on many factors; for example, speed of road, class of road,
number of turns, restrictions and many, many more factors. Gogo may calculate a different route to the one that a driver
with local knowledge would choose. A local driver may choose a route based on personal preferences, maybe some local
knowledge based on expected traffic conditions at a given time - this is something that Gogo cannot factor into its calculation.

Other factors that affect the route are in the Route Options settings. You can check these by going to Menu > Settings > Route.

Q. I got a 'Failed route Calculation' message, what can I do?

A. You may sometimes get such a message if the route start and destination points are not connected by
a proper road network. You can try choosing another location nearby the intended destination; possibly try
choosing another address nearby, or by using the 'Point on Map' feature to select another location nearby your destination.

Another option is to check the Route Setting in "Route options ".You can check these by going to Menu > Settings > Route.
Maybe, you have selected options like avoid "highways, ferries," and there is no other possible way to reach your destination.

Q. I cannot find an address?

A. Sometimes you may not be able to find an address.
In this occurs, try searching for the Street using the 'All Cities' option. This is available when you Choose Menu > Address.
The 'All Cities' options appear at the top of the list. The street may be coded in the database as existing in another city,
or a City nearby; for example, Vancouver versus North Vancouver.

The street may exist with an abbreviated prefix or suffix or none at all. Consider that (East Main Street) may exist as (E Main St).

If the house number is incorrect, try searching for a house number nearby.

If you find a map error, please send details to EnGIS support department by email:
support@engistech.com. Our Quality Control will examine it and reply to you with our findings.
